Wrath of the Righteous

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.

descent into darkness

After many months travel I’ve finally arrived at the worldwound with the Chelish lands long behind me and my hellknight pursuers long lost we arrive in Kenabres. While most of the other chose to stay behind in Andoran or the river kingdoms with most of my wealth Ive left them to live on. Samuel seams intent to follow me to the end regardless of the dangers of the worldwound. This city I’ve never seen so much hatred for anything outside of Cheliax they way they look at the Tieflings with such judgmental eyes its almost a miracle they haven’t driven then all to the demons side with such harsh treatment. This party is causing the people to lower there guards considerably don’t they look at the histories its times such as this when attacks happen well at lest i know Samuel will be ready to take up arms by my side should the worst happen.

Chaos in the streets fire everywhere screams the city is under attack by the demons with what appears to be the storm “king” at its head the silver dragon that defends the city is in combat with it …. No the dragon has fallen and the ground crumbles beneath our feet darkness it would appear the dragon has used its last breath to save myself and a few others some sort of caster Aravashnial and a fighter of sorts Anevia Tirablade and a merchant Horgus Gwerm as well as a few others who seem more durable Samuel is nowhere to be found i can only hope he is alright but its best to see to the others for now. This merchant Horgus seams like hes going to be a bit of work as he refuses to even arm himself for defense even the injured members are ready to fight should the need arrive he has promised us each gold for his safe return thanks to my quick thinking and diplomacy to calm him down where all going to need to work together to make it out of this alive. These caves are crawling with vermin it would seam someone camped here recently ugh this Gug fellow seams to have a hard time following plans and has gotten himself some illness.Horgus is acting worse than a child and antagonizing Anevia whose leg is broken as if shes some burden he must think money can solve all his problems and make him immune to repercussions. Now that Ive ben forced to calm him down a second time so he quits acting stupid however it look like all the noise he made has attracted something Ill be sure to give him a stern talking to after this is over.

Salome Log 1

My dear friends in Magnimar have said it was time for me to finally return to my homeland and that the fury of Ragathiel’s righteous zeal will guide me along any adversity I will face. I decided to make my way to Kenebras to enjoy the festival from the comfort of the shadows. Events, however, would conspire against me. Khorramzadeh, the Storm King and an army of his abyssal hordes destroyed the city and destroyed the guardian, Terendelev, plunging us into the depths below.

There I met up with a group of others, an eclectic group. I did not have much time to learn about them, because my fury had me focused on escaping the caves. There were a few who looked on me in disdain. One was a large beast, whose helpful actions showed his true nature. The final of our impromptu crew intrigued me the most. He wore the vestments of a holy warrior, yet his blatant disdain for the customs of the land baffle me. Is this how things work around here now, that a paladin can question authority so and not be punished for his actions.

I know my place in this world, and I accept it. I need not some knight to defend my honor. It is by my own blade that I defend others, for I am not one one who deserves pity.

Alfonso's Entry 1
Fall of Kenebras

Today is the festival, a good thing to have. Crusaders in the town have had a low morale for some time and perhaps this will do them some good; the gods know that it will be good for me. ([if canonical] Perhaps I will spend some time with my old friend Gug)

The Storm King has triumphed over Kenebras’ guardian and the city has been ruined. I have finally lost everything I have held dear. The earth has opened and I have been plunged into it along with some others. With Terendelev’s final magical gift, our lives have been spared but we have been trapped in a dark cave. I grieve for the loss of my home but I must remain strong for there are others in here with me I must help.

As we press foward, I learned a bit about my fellow survivors. The following can not fight, one is a wounded warrior, another a blinded caster and another a merchant. The rest are able bodied warriors: a Trox named Gug ({if canon] my old friend); Coulsan, a summoner who I am sure is conserving his mighty summons; a bowman by the name of Ferren; a fiend-blooded crusader called Salome and a paladin known as Baldwin. The crusader and the paladin are far too zealous in their actions. The latter however critizes my home for having a holy festival and for being racist against Tieflings. If he only understood the stirfe and suffering of constantly living near the Worldwound, next to beings who would not only kill us but corrupt and destroy our very souls. It is best that I remain calm, I would not want to put stress upon the group.

We continue advance through the dark. When we escape this cave, I will avenge Kenebras and her people, i will avenge my home.

A shot in the dark
Baldwins journal #2

It seams Horgus Gwerms noise has attracted a Huecuva who wears the garb of Tourag further proof of the crusaders wrongful beliefs Horgus seams to have come to terms with the situation and has sworn in the name of Iomedae there will be no more childish outbursts that endanger the lives of us all I can only hope he keeps his word. After wandering around a bit we’ve come across some Mongrelmen who seam to be like a chimera of humanoid races we helped them save of of there fellows who was stuck under a large pile of rubble thankful they now lead us to their city a small place but safe enough for now they all seam to fear us due to harsh treatment and exile from the crusaders above. The chief of the Mongrelmen has asked us to deal with some traitors who bar the way to the surface we agree as we cut our way through a horde of cultists one struck me with a great blow the likes of witch i haven’t felt since that dark day long ago when i was 4 the leader look to have ben in the middle of a ahem booty call we struck her down with ease and uncovered a dragon esque horde of items including a holy weapon of some local hero it look to tun into a warhammer in my hands and no one else strange I’m somewhat concerned about the psychotic zeal in witch Salome wants to cut down everything and everyone its little different than how demons act will need to work on that later. We now have the leader as a prisoner as we head into the city perhaps later when we have time and she comes to i can work on showing her the right path. By the LIGHT as if we don’t have enough problems already Salome seams intent to draw every demon in the bloody city onto us at once is she trying to get us all killed i thought our troubles where over but no we now face 3 fierce demons at once luckily i know all about them and we dispatched them with only minor injury toFerren O’Cyrus everything seams to go for him so far Ive yet to see any sign of life in this ransacked city I can only hope Samuel L. Johnson is still alive and helping out whatever few people are still alive.

Salome Log 2

Today I have performed my first obedience for my lord Ragathiel. I took a condemned criminal and slew him with my blade, carrying out the execution with the sword. His blood is the first that I shall anoint the ground in the pursuit of the eradication of all evil.

Baldwin seems to wish to redeem the leader of the demoniacs, butI will try to persuade him to allow me to send her swiftly to the Lady of Graves so that she may face her ultimate judgement. We are in the middle of war, with demons running through the streets. It’s quite possible that the very Abyss is spilling out and will take over the entirety of the inner sea region in a matter of weeks. If someone has cast their lot with the forces who would seek to destroy all that is good in the world, why should we waste our time in trying to make them see the light?

If they want to ruin everything, kill millions of innocent people for their own misguided selfish gain, that is their decision to make, and they must reap what they sow. I have no time leading fools out of the tunnels of their ignorance when the streets are bathed in the blood of the innocent.

Alfonso's Entry 2
The Exit to the Surface

After wandering in the dark for a bit we stumbled upon a old shrine to Torag. While there we ran into and quickly captured an insane dwarf. The poor fellow seemed to have once been the keeper of the shrine. He had been aggresive to crusaders, I wonder what happened to him. Despite the damage to the shrine and our mission to return to the surface, we took some time to restore the holy site; after all I am sure Torag watched over the creation of all of our arms.

After a brief respite we continued through the darkness with Gug carrying our new companion. We eventually spotted a group of mongrelmen, one of whom was trapped beneath some rubble. With our combined strength we all manage to get him out safely. In return for our aid the mongrelmen offered to take us to their home and help us find a way to the surface. I had only heard rumors of such a place below our city. On the way there we found some bodies in crusader armor but they were not crusaders. Perhaps these were the people who drove the dwarf mad. We will take a body with us, maybe someone on the surface would know more about traitors or spies; I just hope someone is still up there.

We soon met with the leader of the mongrelmen. He offered his services to us as he once did for the crusades, but he asks us a favor. The exit to the surface is blocked by cultists and traitors who seek to do harm to these people and they want us to eliminate them; we will easily defeat them, after all I think this group has a thing against cultists.

We stormed their base of operations with ease, clearing room after room with amazing teamwork, I feel like we could accomplish anything. One room had two giant amoebas for trash disposal, smart. Aside from that the cultist had no tactical sense and, despite some lucky blows, we were unopposed by their combatants. After defeating the leader we found out that they had something to do with the attack on the city, I will personally make sure that they pay for what they have done.

After we reached the surface Salome goaded out some demons. I appreciate her eagerness to rid the town of demons, I would just like a heads up next time. At least I know now that Ferren is an extremely good shot.

I worry for Salome and Baldwin, they both want to do good but each have a conflicting world views on how to deliver it. I just hope that his pride and her wrath don’t collide.

A light in the Darkness
Baldwins journal #3

Now that we’ve dealt with the demons for now we make way for the library as its closest. Madness one of the crusaders seems to have lost his mind attempted to challenge me didn’t last long though we saved the other librarians thy opted to stay behind to preserve records. Now we make for Horgus Gwerms manor ran into some more “crusaders” trying to do a blood sacrifice to Iomedae IS EVERYONE INSANE IN THIS TOWN its a miracle it hasent fallen yet let alone years ago. We meet up with his guards now we have a safeish place to rest if need be left most of the noncombatants there we now make way to Anevia Tirablades house. The house looks unaffected by recent events its not natural some sort of orc spellcaster cultist inside tryed to kill Anevia Tirablade but he didn’t last long just kept summoning weak bugs what a joke. We found some plans that talk of cultist lairs fortunately the former cultist i’m showing the right path knows of the locations of these lairs and has reviled them to us. We have come up to what looks like a herbalists shop of some sort in the middle of being looted by some former mercenary trying to escape i managed to talk them into joining up with us after all there’s safety in numbers inside the former safehouse we fond a chest that had some poisoned holy symbols ofIomedae and a note mocking us from Baphomet ill hold on to these for now a plant monster almost killed Ferren O’Cyrus but he managed to pull through somehow we found a good number of secret plans and names of traitors to the crusade ill hold onto them for now until i can find someone in charge to give them to. When we got back the the manor we found it empty looks like they went to a more fortified position with the rest of the survivors where now heading there we at last found Anevia Tirablade wife a half orc by the looks of it who is now leading whats left of the crusaders int his town.
After we rested for the night she asked us if we could deal with the wardstone before the cultists can use it for some dark plan to destroy the world we agreed they then gave us some items and a rod to destroy the wardstone. We ran into some more demons who where sentries at the lair i knew of these demons to i sometimes wonder why i know everything about them all but best put that aside for now. I managed to muster all my strength and break through the door. I can finally draw upon the power of light to aid my comrades in battle as we now raid the lair of these fiends so far so good but if that will hold up remains to be seen. Lately Salome is complaining we haven’t taken nay one alive has she finally come around and seen that redemption is the way but when i look at her i see this blood lust what sinister reason could she want a live cultist for…..

Ferren's two copper
first and probably the last

I’ve been with this group for a few days after the fall of the town. They are all awful in there own rights. I hate them all. Especially Salome

Salome Log 3

With our party reaching the other survivors, we now have some form of defense against the demonic horde, yet today I feel nervous, for despite my calls to keep villains alive so that I may exact righteous judgment against them, my fellows have taken to killing our enemies where they stand. This would be fine, if these were demons, but they are mortals, who have a right to be tried before their demise by the blades of the righteous.
